Ferraton Hermitage Les Miaux

£63.82
Maison Ferraton was founded in 1946 by Jean-Orëns Ferraton, the scion of family of vignerons with a small holding in Hermitage. Expansion of the family business continued apace under his son Michel, who bought vineyards in St-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. In addition to this he established a high-quality negociant arm, producing superior wines from the length of the Rhône Valley. This bijou producer has long been a firm proponent of organic and biodynamic farming, with an increasing number of wines produced according to these principles.

Notes of powdered rocks, graphite, caramelised meats and both cassis and black raspberry emerge from this Hermitage Les Miaux. This rich, low-acid, chewy, downright decadent Hermitage is another huge success from this estate. Its going to need a few years of bottle age, yet the sweetness of fruit will allow it to drink nicely relatively early in its life.

Tasting Note:
Complex aromas of blueberry, licorice and violet with dusty minerals notes. Full bodied and chewy on the palate with intense flavours of ripe blackberry fruits and hints of spice.
