Rolly Gassmann Riesling de Rorschwihr ‘Cuvee Yves’ Vendanges Tardives
£52.35
2010. Biodynamic. Organic.
The family domaine of Rolly-Gassmann, whose roots date back to 1661, is located in Alsace’s Haut-Rhin village of Rorschwihr, near Ribeauvillé. The estate practices organic viticulture and also works to biodynamic principles. Traditional in approach and with a wealth of excellent vineyard sites, Gassmann is known for wines that possess a wonderful elegance, softness and drinkability.
The grapes for this wine were harvested late in the vintage, allowing for greater accumulation of sugars and flavour intensity and a touch of botrytis giving this wine its exotic, complex flavour profile.
Tasting Note:
The ripe stone fruit and floral notes meld with pastry, candied orange, honey and botrytis notes. Smooth and complex all lifted by delicate but incisive acidity.
