The family domaine of Rolly-Gassmann, whose roots date back to 1661, is located in Alsace’s Haut-Rhin village of Rorschwihr, near Ribeauvillé. The estate practices organic viticulture and also works to biodynamic principles. Traditional in approach and with a wealth of excellent vineyard sites, Gassmann is known for wines that possess a wonderful elegance, softness and drinkability.
Fermented in large old oak casks and held on its lees for nearly a year prior to bottling the Gassmann Gewürztraminer is ripe and rich, very textural and exotic, with almost a medium dry level of residual sugar, but with wonderfully fresh acidity for balance. A natural partner to lightly spiced Asian cooking - perfect with Chicken Korma for example.
