Founded in 2001, Christian Peth and his wife Maja Luise lead the team at Weingut Peth-Wetz, located between Worms and Alzey in Germany’s Rheinhessen. As both owner and cellarmaster, Christian cultivates 30ha of vineyards around the towns of Bermersheim, Dalsheim and Westhofen, where his vines grow in loess and limestone soils. The wines are both striking and confident.
Tasting Note: Notes of bright red cherry, blueberry, clove, black tea leaf and cinnamon are consistent from the nose to the palate, where they are met by crisp acidity and round tannins. The complexity of this wine will continue to evolve over time.
