Fleur de Pedesclaux (Second Wine)
2014 vintage.
Fleur de Pedesclaux is the second wine of one of the rising stars of the Medoc, Château Pedesclaux. After being bought in 2009 by the Lorenzetti family, a new state of the art cellar and winery have been added. This blend of deliciously equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (with a small portion of Cabernet Franc), has delightful red cherry and cassis fruit on the front palate with integrated tannins on the finish. This wine is a wonderful match for classic meat dishes, roasted meats, braised and grilled dishes.
This vintage has an intense, almost black colour. Its nose is complex revealing smoky notes of blackcurrant, chocolate, muscades and nuts as well as scents of bilberries and morello cherries. On the palate, the attack is greedy, with a beautiful structure, notes of complex fruit aromas, milk caramel and cocoa. The tannins are fine, silky.
