Chateau Bellegrave - Pomerol

£59.96
2011 vintage. Organic.

Château Bellegrave is a small family-owned property located on the right bank, in the Pomerol appellation. The estate, acquired by Jean Bouldy in 1951, is today managed by his grandson, Jean-Marie Bouldy and his family. The vineyards extend over ten hectares of gravelly soil and benefits from a grape variety dominated by Merlot and supplemented by Cabernet Franc. Respectful of the environment, the estate is ECOCERT certified and has been producing certified organic wines since 2009.

This Pomerol estate goes about its business, unnoticed by the crowd, and your pocket is all the better for it. Pomerol expert Neal Martin is a big fan, and when you taste this Merlot (75%) / Cabernet Franc (25%) blend, you'll see where he's coming from. Elegance in a glass.

Tasting Note:
Blackberry, cherry, vanilla and earthy fruit aroma. Firm fruit with good perfume, a lovely minerality and iron notes from the Pomerol soil.
